Sanskrit Film Festival has started for the first time in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.  This will last for seven days.  Different Sanskrit films will be shown for seven days.  MP minister Mohan Yadav has said that a Sanskrit film will be made on the great poet Kalidas and Emperor Vikramaditya

If you like Sanskrit and want to watch Sanskrit movies then come to Ujjain.  The Rashtriya Sanskrit Chalachitra Utsav (Film Festival) has started here.  This type of event is being organized for the first time in Madhya Pradesh.  The festival, which is going on at Abhirang Natyagriha of Kalidas Sanskrit Academy, is being organized by Maharishi Panini Sanskrit and Vedic University and Kalidas Sanskrit Academy Sanskriti Parishad.

The Sanskrit Chalchitra Utsav started with the singing of Nandi sentences and the University Kulgan by the students of the University dedicated to the Sanskrit Natya Vidya.  The film Shankaracharya directed by GV Iyer was screened at the launch.  This film was seen by Batuk, who was learning Sanskrit and some university students, professors and Sanskrit knowers.  According to art critics, the film was produced in 1983.  Its music was composed by M. Balamurali Krishna, who plays a vital role in keeping the entire film hooked.  Its important characters who leave their mark on the audience are GL Iyer, MV Narayan Rao, Leela Narayan Rao and Sarvadaman D. Banerjee etc.  This film is a milestone in understanding the life philosophy of Adishankaracharya.  Special attention has been paid to Sanskrit pronunciation.

Sanskrit film to be made on Kalidas and Emperor Vikramaditya

Inaugurating this seven-day long festival, MP Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Maharishi Panini Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya and Kalidas Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya and Kalidas Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya will help in re-establishing the culture and Sanskrit language of Ujjain in the society.  The role of the Academy is important.  MP and Ujjain will also contribute in Sanskrit film production.  A Sanskrit film will be made on Mahakavi Kalidas and Samrat Vikramaditya.  Acharya Vijaykumar CG, Vice Chancellor of Panini University, who is presiding, said that such events in MP will generate employment opportunities along with skill development in the field of Sanskrit language, literature, Sanskrit drama and acting.  The newly appointed Executive Council members of the University, Rajendra Jhalani, Suresh Wadia, Dr. Vidya Joshi, Kiran Sharma were honored.  During this, Registrar Dr. Dilip Soni, Coordinator and Director of Kalidas Academy Dr. Santosh Pandya, Dr. Seema Sharma, Dr. Manmohan Upadhyay, Dr. Tulsidas Paroha, Dr. Shubham Sharma, Dr. Akhilesh Dwivedi, Dr. Sankalp Mishra participated.

These films will be shown from 23 to 28 

Director Vinod Mankar’s film Priyamanasam will be screened at Chalchitra Utsav on February 23.  Director PK Ashokan’s film Anurakti on 24th February, Madhurasmitam by director Suresh Gayatri on 25th February, Director Nidhish Gopi’s film Pratikriti on 26th February, Bhagavad Geeta by director GV Iyer on 27th February, Mudrarakshasam by director Suresh Shastri on 28th February  will be shown.  All the movies will start at 5.30 pm.
