Internet Services closed again in Rajasthan

Tonk, Rajasthan: Angered by the diversion of the route of the traditional Kanwar yatra in Rajasthan’s Tonk district for many years, Hindu organizations have postponed the yatra. This has created resentment among Hindu organizations. In view of the situation, the Ajmer Divisional Commissioner has shut down internet services in Malpura and Todarai Singh of Tonk district from 12 midnight of July 30 to 12 noon on August 1. Earlier on Saturday, all the top officials, including the District Collector, camped in Malpura for the whole day. After that in the evening a flag march was taken out in Malpura with heavy police force.

In fact, the people of Tonk have been taking out Kanwar Yatra every year from Bisalpur to Malpura via Todarai Singh. In the year 2018, some people pelted stones in Malpura on this Kanwar Yatra to be taken out by Shiv Kanwar Yatra Committee. This had worsened the atmosphere. Later in the year 2020, the police and administration, in consultation with some curious people, changed the route of this journey. This journey was not taken out in the Corona period for two years.

Stuck on the traditional and converted route

This time it was proposed to take out this yatra. This yatra was to leave on the night of 31 July and reach Malpura on 1 August. The administration was giving permission to travel through the changed route, while the committee was adamant on taking out the journey from the old route. After this, when the administration gave permission to take the yatra through the traditional route, the angry committee postponed it. This created resentment among Hindu organizations and committees.

Flag march with heavy police force

Seeing the atmosphere, the police administration came on alert mode and camped in Malpura. Later on Saturday evening, internet services were suspended in Malpura and Todarai Singh areas for two days. The police and administration converted Malpura into a cantonment. In the evening, along with SDM Ramkumar Verma, ASP Rakesh Kumar, CO Sushil Mann and SHO Kailash Vishnoi, STF, RAC, Police and Home Guard personnel conducted a flag march in the town.

BJP district president targeted the government

BJP District President Rajendra Parana targeted the government after not getting permission for Kavad Yatra through the traditional route in Malpura. Parana said that the Rajasthan government has reached the height of appeasement. Changed the route of Kanwar Yatra, which was taken from the State Highway for years. If the administration did not accept the request of the devout people of Malpura, the public and the Kavad Yatra Committee have postponed the program in protest.
